Let's Hear it for the Single Mamas: Snowboard Mom Stephanie Barnhart

In this episode Nicole and Sarah host snowboard mom Stephanie Barnhart, founder of Social Minded Media Group and mom to Max, age 9.  Stephanie grew up in Aspen and skiing in Colorado, but found her true love of snowboarding back on the East Coast.

As a single mom, Stephanie addresses the unique challenges of finding the time, money and energy to plan ski adventures for her family. She started out teaching Max to snowboard -  but when he just didn’t love it, she put him on skis and the rest is history.  Skiing and boarding is now their favorite thing to do together.  Stephanie and Max found the silver lining of covid when online school allowed them to explore new ski resorts throughout New England and upstate New York.

Stephanie shares some great tips on making family ski trips more economical such as the Indy Pass and traveling with friends to defray costs.  She also shares some ways she uses social media to meet new ski/ride friends. Oh, and we might have invented a new dating app for single moms who ski and ride.
