Ski Mom Ali Wines Talks about POW Canada and Preserving Winter

In this episode Nicole and Sarah host Ali Wines, Executive Director at Protect Our Winters Canada. Ali tells us all about POW, their members and vision.  (Find out more about the USA Protect our Winters here.)

Ali gives us an overview of the history of POW and the path she took to this awesome job.  POW is a passionate community of enthusiasts, professional athletes and industry brands uniting the outdoor community to advocate for policy solutions to climate change. 

We were shocked (and sad) to learn about a recent study into resort snowpack that found that by 2080 only one of the past Olympic venues will be about to host the Winter Olympics (Sapporo, Japan). 

We talk about what we can do as moms and families to help protect our winters for generations to come. It can be small changes that add up to big impact.  

We learned a lot from our chat with Ali and hope you’ll be excited and optimistic about the positive impact our choices can make on the climate!
